Is Propinions free to use?
Yes, Propinions is free to use. It’s an experiment right now — an idea we wanted to bring to life — and we're excited to see where it goes.
What should I include in a Propinion?
Your honest experience — everything from the house itself, outside space, noise, neighbours, parking, safety, and the feel of the area, to landlord behaviour, maintenance, and any surprises, good or bad.
What areas does Propinions cover?
Currently a 5 mile radius of Macclesfield (for launch), with more places added over time as the community grows.
How do you ensure the quality of opinions?
No system is perfect, but we use email verification, community flagging, and moderation to reduce false or misleading opinions. Users can also respond to an opinion to share their side of the story.
Can I post anonymously?
Yes. Your real name doesn’t need to appear publicly — you can choose how you’re displayed and if no name is chosen you get a random animal name 😉. However please respect our submission guidelines.
What stops someone from posting something false or unfair?
We rely on community reporting, moderation, and guidelines. Anyone can flag a review, and we will remove opinions and comments that do not meet oursubmission guidelines.
How do you handle personal data?
We store as little as possible. Only your email and basic account info are required. We don't sell your data.
Can I upload photos?
Yes, as long as they follow the submission guidelines - no identifiable people, no private documents, no copyright issues.
