My first house
My first house which I bought for 104k in Feb 2017. Was a great first house and I had a lot of happy memories there.
A small 1 bedroom house (two-up two-down) with a shared back garden (about 4/5 houses). I also had a coal shed type thing behind me which I used for storage of my bike etc. House has been great and no issues, already had reasonable modern kitchen/bathroom/boiler/windows. The roof had also been done. No radiator in the kitchen so it got a little chilly in there at times.
Many of the neighbors were renting, witnessed few tenant dramas but most were friendly enough. I wasn't involved in the Church over the road but did get to know the rev and his wife who were very friendly and part of the local community.
The shared garden is nice and enclosed, access through a gate. Only downside on the garden was that were occasional issues with dog mess in the shared garden, so I eventually sectioned off my area.
The front road is very busy and can be quite noisy, but that didn't bother me. Really close to the beautiful canal, which I used daily. Coop is just down the hill and town is not much further, I walked or cycled most places. Parking was generally ok and I got the same space every day directly opposite the house, but this is not guaranteed and some days I had to park further away.
When I moved on I kept the house and rented it out. Tennant was also very happy there and we've had barely any issues with the property besides a shared chimney issue which I believe the neighbors resolved.
